SURFACE TURBULENCE; THAT’S US

SURFACE TURBULENCE; THAT’S US

IT’S REALLY FANTASTIC TO THINK OF MOLECULES AT THE CENTER OF THE PLANET

FIRST IN THE SOLID CORE, STUCK IN A KIND OF PRESSURIZED BLANKNESS

AND THEN IN VIOLENT TURBULENCE JUST OUTSIDE IT

A RIOT OF HEAT SWIMMING IN HEAT

FOLLOWED THEN BY THE LONG QUIET OF LOCKED FORMATION

AND THEN AGAIN AFTER QUITE SOME TIME, ANOTHER SLOWER—MUCH COLDER—TURBULENCE ON TOP

SO MUCH SPACE BETWEEN THE NOTES

THERE’S A LOT OF SPACE BETWEEN THINGS, ON THE SURFACE

THAT’S US

MOLECULAR DUST DEVILS WITH A DNA ENGINE

WANDERING IN VAST SPACES WE DON’T FALL OFF BUT IT’S A WONDER

WE’RE A KIND OF WIND AND WE DON’T GET SUCKED INTO THE NOTHING ABOVE US

WE SETTLE

AND THEN GET PICKED UP AGAIN IN DIFFERENT WINDS
